Who we are
It´s me – David, Svetlana and our son, also David: a young Slovak family living in Alicante since 2022. Why Alicante? A few things drew us here – for one, Svetlana’s mother has lived in the city since the late 1990s. The rest are reasons most travellers already know: more than 320 days of sunshine a year, the long sandy beaches of the Costa Blanca, the relaxed Spanish way of life and that immortal phrase – “la vida son dos días”. It means “life lasts two days”, so you should make the most of it, with the people you love, in a place where you feel like you’re on holiday (almost) 365 days a year.
Our start in Spain was anything but easy – you do whatever you can and take the first job offered after dozens of CVs sent out. Svetlana began as a receptionist in a hotel in Alicante city center, where in nearly a year spent she got her fair share of unusual guest requests and ridiculous complaints. As for me – since we’d moved from Slovakia in our own 8-seater van – after a few weeks I decided to offer airport transfers for holidaymakers, our fellow Slovaks and Czechs. It caught on quickly: over the first two summer seasons I served dozens of happy travellers driving thousands of kilometres across the whole Costa Blanca, from Dénia through Jávea, Altea, Benidorm, Santa Pola and Torrevieja all the way to Mar Menor. Later I changed tack and spent two years working at a car rental company at Alicante (ALC) airport. Only there did I understand how this business really works, and which companies are fair to their clients and which are less so. But it was time to move on again, and that’s when we asked ourselves: why not use everything we’d learned working in tourism, combine it with my passion for planning trips and holidays, and share it with people looking for their next carefree escape from everyday life?
Why travel with us
As mentioned above, planning trips was always my thing. Whether travelling with friends in the past or family holidays later, I was always the one who took care of everything – flights, accommodation, transfers, the itinerary, and so on. Everyone else just had to show up and enjoy it. That’s how Eutimia travel was born: now it can be you who enjoys it to the full, while I plan it all carefully, exactly as if I were doing it for myself and my loved ones. Eutimia isn’t a traditional travel agency that sells you a ready-made package regardless of your preferences. It’s me, David – your personal travel advisor. I believe that, just like me, nobody enjoys automated replies and AI chatbots. I am here to offer personal treatment – from the first contact until you’re back home, you always deal with me alone, in your own language.

Why Eutimia
The word euthymia hit me while listening to the audiobook The Daily Stoic by Ryan Holiday. Seneca, a Stoic philosopher born in Córdoba, Spain, used it to describe a tranquil state of mind: the trust that you’re walking the right path, without looking over your shoulder at where everyone else is running. Whenever someone asked me, ever since my teenage years, whether I believed in any religion, my answer was always the same – I believe in myself, just as Seneca did. And the word’s other meaning, inner peace? That’s exactly what we’re all looking for when we go on holiday. We couldn’t think of a better name for a travel agency.
